Dear Customers and Friends,

I am pleased to announce that my daughter, Melissa, has expanded the default character set from ISO-8859-1 to Windows-1252 and defined character sets for Baltic (Windows-1257), East Europe (Windows-1250), Greek (Windows-1253), and Turkish (Windows-1254).

This means there is enhanced support for text characters used by these languages:

Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Icelandic, Irish, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish

and new experimental support for these text characters used by these languages:

Albanian, Czech, Estonian, Greek, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Romanian, Serbo-Croatian, Slovak, Slovene, and Turkish

The default character set is still Windows-1252, but this can be changed by going to Settings->Text and choosing an alternate character set. To make your choice the default for all new drawings, click on Settings->Save Settings.

We plan to expand the list of supported character sets in the future (these were just the "easy" ones). If you use one of these character sets, let us know if you see mapping issues or are concerned with the appearance of a particular letter.

ASCII (included in the first section of all Windows-12xx character sets): English

Windows-1252 (Western Europe): Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Icelandic, Irish, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish
